FIRST RESPONSE EMERGENCY CARE
(FREC 3)

The FREC system is modular-based, which enables delegates to progress through each level of FREC training (FREC 1 to FREC 7) if they choose to. The Level 3 First Response Emergency Care certificate meets the FPHC criteria for descriptor D, on the PHEM (Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine) skills framework.

The objective of this FREC training course is to give delegates the knowledge, awareness and practical skills needed to deal with a variety of pre-hospital emergency situations. ATR’s medically-experienced trainers will provide you with realistic scenario-based training exercises, as well as classroom-based learning, using principles of situational awareness and much more. By the end of the course, you will be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, effective and prompt pre-hospital care, in situations which can arise when providing emergency first aid treatment.

This course is suitable for:

  • Community first responders
  • Close Protection Operatives
  • Firefighters
  • Police officers
  • Events first aiders
  • Aid workers in hostile environments overseas
  • Offshore workers
  • Remote area or overseas workers (journalists, film crews, researchers, expedition leaders etc.)
  • Those working in high-risk environments

The FREC training course provided by ATR lasts for a period of 5 days. Although it is not compulsory, delegates are encouraged to undertake a minimum of 118 hours of self-directed study (including reading and applied practice).
