What is a Door Supervisor?
A door supervisor is an individual who works on a licenced premises and provides a deterrent against crime and a response to incidents as they occur. It is a customer service role with the focus on bringing safety, security and stability to our place of work. This includes looking after members of the public, colleagues and staff.
The role also requires us to look after the premises and its licence to operate meaning a door supervisor must be knowledgeable about licencing laws. They must work to enforce the 4 licencing objectives, which are:
- Preventing crime and disorder
- Public Safety
- Preventing a public nuisance
- Protecting children from harm

Note: The Security Industry Authority (SIA) have now stipulated that you must have a relevant first aid qualification before you can begin the Level 2 Door Supervisor training. If you already have a suitable qualification (minimum L3 EFAW with 12 months left until expiry) then book onto our 6 day L2 Door Supervisor course. If you don’t have a suitable qualification then don’t worry, just be sure to select the 7 day combined package that includes the L3 Emergency First Aid at work qualification.
The next steps
- Complete the pre-course learning that will be sent to you when you confirm your place on the course, this training should take approximately 8 hours so be sure to allow yourself enough time to do this before day 1 of the course.
- Attend the course and drain the knowledge of our experienced trainers before passing the assessments.
- Once the course is passed you can apply for your front-line licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
